Welcome To

Aura Accommodation

Aura Accommodation was founded in 2022 by a group of providers that are troubled by the growing number of people that have disabilities and need affordable housing and face economically due to, among other barriers, a lack of safe, affordable housing.

Keeping true to the mission, to provide personalized, selflessness, support through Resources, skill building, knowledge sharing and educational training in order to equip one for self-independence.

Below are 5 ways you can be involved in our community:

Charitable Giving

We will depend on members of the community for charitable giving to sustain our staffing and to assist with minimal ongoing capital requirements associated with the Community. Our goal for this fund raising initially will be $900,000 and $300,000 on an ongoing basis.

Employer Network Development

A very important element for people with IDD is employment and one of the goals for Aura Accommodation is to sustain and grow a network of employers who value the skills and work ethic of people with IDD.

Board Member Participation

We are seeking Board Members with appropriate work experience in Finance, Building/Development, Legal, Marketing, Fund Raising, Architecture, Public & Legislative experience, and employer networking.

Volunteers

People will be able to assist Aura Accommodation in many ways including mentor, front desk, kitchen, dining room, arts and crafts, social activities and employment support.

Annual Fund Raiser

Aura Accommodations will host an annual fund raiser event and we will need volunteers to perform a variety of duties to support the event throughout the year.

Aura Accommodations is redefining affordable, low-income housing.

We’re a nonprofit organization that is working to build a more humane world where communities are healthy, and all people can develop their full potential.

We participate in the development, preservation, management and/or financing of affordable, program-enriched housing in Colorado. Our goal is to acquire and renovate existing housing, as well as develop new affordable rental properties.

Aura Accommodations plan to developed housing by using a combination of private donations and Low Income Housing Tax Credit ( LITC ) funding.  Our plan is to raise the private funding that we require for land acquisition, community design and initial operating costs and use the LITC program to fund the initial capital requirements of the design and development of the community.

Over the next year, Aura Accommodation will seek to raise sufficient funds through charitable donations to support the completion of the design of the community, the acquisition of the land and the required planning document submittals for both the local municipality and the federal government.

Concurrently, Aura Accommodations will be completing the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit application for evaluation by the State of Colorado. We will partner with an experienced LITC developer and builder to ensure timely review and completion of the community.

Blue Spruce Community will require ongoing charitable giving and grants to support the minimal level of staffing that we will require

The apartment complex will be available to low-income individuals with IDD. The tenants will pay rent on the low-income scale using Social Security or other sources.  Tenants will utilize their Medicaid Disability waivers to support them in their daily living, hiring service providers and utilizing case managers.

To build and sustain Aura Accommodations,

We will require assistance from the people of our great community.
